Health Education Services (HES) is a woman-owned, small business established in 1979. Our mission is to decrease mortality and improve health by providing quality health and safety training classes for the lay community and medical professionals, implementing automated external defibrillator (AED) programs, and offering consulting services.

HES prides itself on its turnkey implementation and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) programs for business, community, school, and other non-profit organziations.  Featuring Philips HeartStart AEDs, our staff helps you select the right AED and accessories for your environment.  We provide all services that help you comply with California state regulations so that you will be covered by the Good Samaritan protections.  Our clients include, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Genentech, City of San Jose, National Semiconductor, and many churches, synagogues, temples, schools, and organizations of all sizes.

HES serves as a training center for American Heart Association (AHA) and a training center for Health and Safety Institute.  Our staff includes master trainers and regional faculty. Standardized and customized courses fulfill the governing regulations of Cal/Fed OSHA for our corporate clients as well as requirements for teachers’ credentialing, school bus drivers, child care providers,  athletic trainers, foster and adoptive parents, and many more. Courses for medical professionals include customized training for emergency medical technicians as well as the healthcare provider level of CPR certification. We can also create instructor and instructor trainers for in-house programs

HES also coordinates health fairs, provides disaster preparedness training, and smoking cessation courses.
