About Us
Joel E. Jakubson founded Jakubson Financial Organizers in 2006 after realizing the frustrations that busy families have in organizing their personal financial records. Since then, he has helped over 150 clients learn how to use Quicken™ and QuickBooks™ to understand their financial picture and effectively budget their spending. In addition to Quicken and QuickBooks training, he also provides ongoing personal financial assistance and daily money management services to a number of families and self employed individuals.Previously, Joel had a 28 year career in technology consulting, investing, marketing, and engineering. He was president of Jakubson Telecommunications, Inc., a small consulting firm founded in 1998 that specialized in working with startup companies, with particular emphasis on companies in the communications field. Joel was a Partner with Diamondhead Ventures from September 2000 to December 2003, investing in and serving on the board of directors of early stage technology companies.
Joel has worked in engineering and marketing roles for Bell Laboratories, LICOM, Alcatel, and Raynet (acquired by Ericsson), as well as market research and consulting as a vice president of RHK (Ryan Hankin Kent) and with his own consulting firm, Jakubson Telecommunications.
Joel is a Sustaining Member and a member of the Board of the Financial Planning Forum, and is a member of theAmerican Association of Daily Money Managers, the Better Business Bureau, and the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.
Joel is an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer. An avid hiker, he has hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, and the Milford Track in New Zealand. He is also a beginning golfer, where he is a danger to himself and others on the golf course.
